About TOBIAS

TOBIAS - ID #A508855 Moreno Valley Shelter, Moreno Valley, So Cal Tobias A508855 is a 2 yr old, 59 lb neutered male, Husky, Akita, Shepherdy mix (however, he looks like a shepherd/lab mix to me). Per the shelter, when he first came here, he was scared and he's a big boy with a deep bark. He can be scary and intimidating but it's all for show. He's all bark with his tail between his legs. I understand that having a big dog bark at you is off-putting�'�| but so is being in a strange place with people you have no idea who they are. Tobias barked at me and I gave him a cheeseburger, next day, another cheeseburger and by the third day, I got a tail wag. I spoke with co-workers and they were telling me how much better he was doing with them and they didn't even have to give him any cheeseburgers. It just took a little time for him to get to know us. We took him out to the yard and he was so excited, and happy. He almost instantly went belly up for tummy scratches. He's a good boy but he's a little more sensitive and guarded with his friendship. Once you are his friend, he will love you and trust you without limits but you need to put in the time. It's not going to happen instantly. He was impounded originally, on January 28th. Adopted on March 2nd and returned on March 6th stating he doesn't like men and he didn't get along with their other dog. Tobias has had two temp tests at the shelter, the last one was with a Pit Bull who would throw herself on the floor in a dive to slide up under Tobias's feet. He didn't know where to step for fear of stepping on her. The look of confusion on his face as she slid under him and he hopped up and looked at me like, 'what is she doing? Oh, I like this�'�| ' was definitely priceless. As of tomorrow, he will have been here a total of 89 days. That's three months with a weekend vacation at a place that they didn't want him after all. Tobias needs help, desperately. He needs an adopter or rescue/foster/pledges. Look at his adorable face.
