Meet Peanut! This sweet little boy came to me from an owner surrender in Indiana. They received him from a backyard breeder for their current dachshund, because they did not want it to be lonely. However, their dachshund made it clear that it wanted to remain an only dog and wanted nothing to do with this new family member. They did not want to give him back to the breeder because they had already paid for vet visits and have been completing his puppy vaccinations on there own without the help of the 'breeder'. They also wanted to be assured that he would be going to home in which he would be loved! He has been around both larger and small breed dogs. He does well with both but because he is so small he does get a little frightened of the larger breeds. He is still learning potty training as he is only about 4 months old. We have been using cloth pads in the home and have been walking him on a leash, although he is so small right now it is hard for him to walk around in taller grass. (It is absolutely adorable though) He will not/should not be neutered until he turns one year old as this can affect his spinal development. I do not know his exact type (mini/standard) my guess is he will be a standard dachshund as the breeder told the owner surrender home he would reach 20lbs. He will also not be given to a breeder home of any kind as we do not condone the creation of more animals in this world when there are clearly many in need! His fee is $650 because he is a purebred, up to date on shots and desired dog he is priced a little higher because whatever goes over his original cost will go towards my other current and future foster dogs! If you have any more questions feel free to reach out to me, I have been in the fostering world for 20+ years!
