Meet Lucy Lucy and her siblings (Tango and Margo) were rescued from a high-kill shelter. Lucy is a lovely young dog at six months old. She is thought to be a Labrador Retriever/Plott hound mix. Sadly, Lucy and her siblings seem to have been mistreated in their past. Lucy's first reaction when meeting someone is to hit the ground and crawl on her belly with a timid swish of her tail. Once she understands that you're a friend, she is loving, friendly, and super sweet. Lucy loves playing with her siblings in the yard. She and her sister roll around in the sunshine and hang out all the time. She's an active girl, who will do best in an active home. Both Plott hounds and retrievers are athletic breeds and love to run and play. Lucy is no exception. She is learning to walk on a leash. She's doing well and enjoys her time out. She also enjoys the quiet security of sitting next to her person and welcomes attention. She enjoys meeting other dogs and shyly makes friends with them. She also does well with kitties. Lucy, like her siblings, has a pure heart and a gentle demeanor. She is an all-around terrific dog, who will continue to blossom with the right person or family. She does best with a soft and gentle approach. She doesn't require a lot of training, just positive reassurance to help build her confidence. Lucy is a gem. She's had a tough beginning, but every day our staff and trainers are helping her to forget her past treatment. And, every day, Lucy shows us more of her silly and fun puppy personality. We love her and her siblings so much. To watch them blossom is incredible.
