Davis is sponsored by our friends at Survivor Tails Animal Rescue (STAR). Apply through them at survivortails.org or email [email protected] Tell them ARK sent you! Meet Davis! He just turned the big '2' but some days this shepherd / lab mix he feels like 22. His heart is aching for a home, and his hips are aching from mild dysplasia. Unfortunately, his physical pain has meant that this normally calm boy has gotten a tad grumpy but a loving home without stairs will make his life easier. His current situation is too busy for his needed comfort. Davis is normally an easy-to-please dog who's equally happy laying in his bed, gentle hiking in the woods, and playing for short periods in the yard. Davis likes some space, but is friendly and loves to lie at his person's feet. Because of his hip dysplasia, he has bitten or threatened to bite some family members, but he is now on medication and under the care of an orthopedic surgeon. For many dogs, this is a natural response to pain. By knowing his limits and ensuring his weight is proper, he will much better for his new owner. Davis will need a home where his health concerns are high priority, as well as a home where his owners can polish his training. He is excellent with commands, but will need some practice in distracting environments (such as outdoors). Davis wants to be his owners' one and only and will need a child-free, pet free home. Davis is available in MA, NH, and CT. If you think you're a match to be his RESCUE HERO, please apply at survivortails.org or for serious inquiries, please email [email protected] Tell them ARK sent you!
