Volunteers say that this nine year old Dachshund/ Miniature Pinscher gets sweeter by the day! He was a little standoffish when he first came in, but has quickly warmed up to all of us. According to one volunteer, 'He is very smart and knows so many tricks! He can even stand on his back legs and twirl! Prince is not comfortable around younger children and would be happier in a home with children 17 or older. He is quite a character, eager to go for walks and to snuggle into your lap. Prince walks well on leash and prefers sunbeams and a soft bed for his sleek, jet-black, super soft body.' Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you'd like to meet Prince, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter's Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to [email protected] A shelter staff member will review it and call you to set up an appointment. Due to Covid restrictions, only two people are allowed in the shelter at one time and each visitor is asked several health-related questions before being allowed in.
