Update:4-2-21 We would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who sent in applications, emails, texts and calls to give this sweet girl a home. Unfortunately their is only one of her and it has been very difficult for us to choose a home with all the great people wanting to adopt her. With that being said Candy is scheduled to have a meet/greet with her new mom and 10 year old fur sibling (Bella) this coming Wednesday. If all goes well she will be living her best life ever!!! We thank you ALL again for reaching out to us.......3-26-21 Candy was to have her exam today at 11:00. Unfortunately our vets office just called and said Dr.Lewis called in sick today:(. We are now scheduled for 4-7-21 @11:00. Fingers crossed that she will be available for this appointment. We are excited to get Candy in her new Forever home where she can start to thrive with her new family... Meet Candy...... We got a call from a breeding facility about Candy to be surrendered. They told us they planned on keeping her as a breeder but she has a limp in her back hind leg. She will be heading to our vet this Friday (3-26-21) for her exam. The breeder did have her checked at their vet and they said she has a luxating patella. We won't know the extent of it until we have her seen at our vet. Candy is a beautiful 10 month old Bernese. She is very sweet, but is shy since she has come from a breeder. She has never lived in a home and will require lots of time and patience. She is fearful of many things as she has lived her life so far in a barn/kennel setting. We have taken her into our home and she shakes with fear as she has never lived inside. So we have given her the option to come and go with the doggy door as she pleases. Or if she decides to stay out in the small building off our fenced yard until she wants to follow our dog back inside she has that option as well. We are letting her get use to lots of new things and to be free to 'just be a happy dog'. She loves our dog and tends to find comfort in being with him or around him. She runs and plays with him alot. This is why having a fur sibling is very important. With Candy being young she will adjust to her new home and be a wonderful girl. She will need a home with another fur sibling that is close to her own size, no small dogs. Candy will also will be required to have a fenced yard to keep her safe...NO ELECTRIC FENCING!! Candy will have an adoption fee once we know what her vetting will consist of. If you are interested in her adoption please text or email us to request an application, we are currently not taking calls on her as we do not have any further information than what is posted. We will not allow meet/greets unless you have submitted an application on Candy and it has been approved. All meet/greets and adoptions are by appointment only. Please keep in mind Candy will have an adoption fee. This fee will be to help us try to recover some of her vetting expenses. We do use 3 different vets, unfortunately only one of our vets is equipped to handle cases like this if we have to proceed with surgery. Thank you to everyone who is interested in adopting her. We are working on getting applications sent out to everyone.
