Please know that we will ask for a vet reference. Lady is a beautiful girl in urgent need of rescue/a new home. Her owner's son's girlfriend has reached out to us because Lady's owner is experiencing signs of dementia, and is unable to properly care for her. They are unable to take Lady in themselves or go to her home on a regular basis to check on her, and they are very worried for Lady's safety and needs. Name: Lady Age: 13 or 14 years (estimated) Breed: Poodle Sex: Female (spayed per contact, not confirmed) Location: Lancaster County, PA Vet Info: Lady is spayed per her contact, but this has not been confirmed. She is not current with vaccinations, and has not had a recent heartworm test. She weighs about 27 pounds. Owner Info: Lady is a very sweet and friendly little girl, and described as 'so good natured'! She's good with people of all ages, and other dogs and cats. She does not currently live with any other animals. Her contact tells us she is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped. Lady is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. She is not housebroken or leash trained. Her contact writes that she does follow the sound of your voice when you speak to her. When answering whether you feel your dog adapts well to new situations, her contact writes, 'Lady has never been outside this environment at the household, however, she is so good natured that when taken for car rides, she is very cooperative and not nervous at all. She is a wonderful little girl and has so much to offer.' Lady's contact believes she is completely blind, possibly due to untreated diabetes, and they gave us more information: 'We do not know the reason for Lady's visual impairment but taken from her behavior in the last year and a half, I suspect it could've been caused by untreated diabetes. Lady excessively drinks water all the time. Her blindness causes her to walk into walls, furniture and fall off the bed. The owner takes her into bed and she has fallen out many times.... Ladys eyes are almost covered completely with a film, i suspect cataracts...' Lady is very much hoping for her second chance! **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
