About Oberon

Bernese Mountain Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Oberon 'Obie' is a young (dob 6/14/2019), large (about 28' at the shoulder), male Bernese Mountain Dog. %BD%A0He is housebroken, walks nicely on a loose leash on a buckle collar, sits and usually comes when called, respects baby gates, and is crate trained. Once he knows you, he is very snuggly. He is aloof to shy and occasionally fear reactive with new people. He loves to work for cookies. He is a typical pushy teenager with a lot of energy. Consistent boundaries and a consistent routine will be required. Obie has hip and elbow dysplasia. He is currently on a glucosamine supplement and may benefit from adequan. He must stay on the glucosamine for life and must be kept slim and well-muscled. He is currently being walked between 2 and 3 miles a day split into 2 walks.%BD%A0 Obie loves paper. He will pluck tissues from the box and eat them one by one. Same with paper towels and other papers left on tables/counters. We are working on consistent cookie trade for paper training. If you chase him, he will swallow whatever he picked up. Socks will need to be picked up or he will eat them.%BD%A0 He loves animal programs and will run behind the tv to find the tv dog.%BD%A0 Obie must be an only dog and go to a home with no children. Potential adopters should have large dog experience. Adopter must live within a one day drive of Seattle, WA and fill out an official BMDCGS adoption application.
