About RJ

RJ is a 3 year old, 12 1/2 pound Min Pin who just wants to be loved! He is the sweetest, softest, little piece of Velcro you will ever meet! He's timid and a bit skittish, but sooooo sweet. Within 30 minutes he will be rolling over and asking for belly rubs! RJ was owner surrendered with another dog, and has always been with other dogs. He likes to play, and he looks to them for comfort and security. But as he has settled into rescue he has gained confidence. His foster mom thinks he would be happy as an only dog too as long as he got lots of affection and attention from his people! He definitely looks to people for direction and seeks affection. He is still unsure about being picked up from someone standing above him, but will jump up on the couch and sit with you. Once you are closer to his level, you can pick him up and love on him and he is very happy showering you with kisses. Even being a little timid, he is still a very happy little dog!His housetraining is going well, he may still mark once in a while, especially in a new home, but he has improved so much! RJ would probably like older kids who would want to play with him as long as they weren't too rough. He doesn't react at all to the foster's resident cat. RJ is learning to walk on a leash and is doing great but he still should have a home with a fenced yard. But not one with any landscaping rocks. RJ thinks they're candy and he likes to eat them! He enjoys sleeping in the big bed at night. When he is not playing during the day, he likes to nap in a doggie bed. He will need a patient family or person who will give him the time to settle in, but it won't take long and you will be rewarded with a delightful addition to your life. He would be great for a quiet family or person looking for a constant companion. RJ has been to the vet for a wellness check, is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is heartworm positive and has been started on treatment which is provided by the rescue. His testing is also paid for by the rescue and his treatment will continue until he tests negative.
