About Tiger

Meet Tiger, a year old perfectly mixed mutt! Tiger went on his first field trip yesterday. We met friends with dogs for a hike. First Tiger said hi to the humans without dogs and he loved everyone. He even managed a few sits for treats between bounces. When they got their dogs out Tiger was very excited (jumping and barking), so much so we didn't let them say hi, we just started walking with Tiger and I at the rear of the group. After a bit he relaxed and was able to move up to walk and sniff alongside the other dogs the rest of the hike. So proud of him! As a bonus, his short hair did not collect any of the burs my longer hair dog did!Texas Tiger update: Tiger is so full of energy and happiness. He loves to play, squeak toys, chew bones, and sleep on soft beds. He is still very much puppy, but has gotten so much better at chewing on his toys and not people items. He is still a little mouthy when he gets wound up, but this is improving and he is easily redirected to a toy. And he is very gentle taking treats from your hand. Tiger loves attention and snuggles and will follow you around the house and 'help' you with any task. He sleeps all night in his crate (with a bed in it that he has not chewed at all!)and has had zero accidents in the house or crate. His wounds are almost all healed. Tiger did not mind his toenail trim and ear cleaning a bit. The bath was a bit wild, just because he decided bathtime was playtime. Total kid! His leash walking needs work, although he walks well with another dog. Tiger needs to work on his canine social skills a little, as right now he is pounce and play and meet later. He is a smart guy and needs lots of thinking games as well as lots of exercise. Tiger would love to be someone's running partner, and at a year old and 45lbs he would be a perfect partner.
