Courtesy Posting: PLEASE HELP US FIND A HOME FOR HANDSOME SENIOR BUT YOUTHFUL CHOW/SHEP X IN LOS ANGELES, NEEDS REHOMING OR MAY BE SHELTER BOUND BEAR Los Angeles, So Cal Bear is a handsome older chow/shepherd mix who loves to walk, and is perfectly sized at approximately 55 lbs. Unfortunately, his owner can no longer keep him due to her living situation, and we are therefore trying to assist his owner so Bear does not end up in a shelter. Bear was adopted as a young dog, about 9 years ago, and estimated to be 11 year young; he is very youthful, and we have video showing how well he can still run! He has no reported medical issues and is current on shots, neutered and microchipped. Bear would love to be an indoor dog, but is being kept currently outside (but has not had accidents when inside). HIs owner notes he should be the only dog in the home, but is okay with gentle dogs outside the home with a slow and proper introduction. Bear has been to training and also knows a number of commands. His owner says he is a very sweet dog with those he knows, but like many chows or chow mixes, still needs some time to warm up to new people. He is therefore recommended to a home with prior chow or chow mix experience, with at least high school age children or up, and no other pets.
