German Shepherd / Border Collie

Intake Date: 16 Feb 2021 ----- Adopted 27 Mar 2021 ----- Returned to Rescue 3 April 2021 ----- Age at Intake: 1.5 yrs ----- Breed: Shepherd blend ----- Size: 50 lbs ----- Status: Owner Surrender ----- Compatible with: children and dogs. Not cats when off leash ----- Suitable for: home with physically fenced yard. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Shy. Undersocialized. ----- Additional Notes: Zyrus is a handsome guy. He came to rescue due to his owners not having time for him. He has been very undersocialized he hasnt been around other dogs and is incredibly shy with new people and places. He is a very sweet guy and good with the other dogs but is shy with new people. Once he knows you, he is an amazing dog. He was adopted to a home with cats and no other dogs and cat tested beautifully at rescue. Turns out, he is great with cats when on a leash but not when off leash, even when indoors. He is a good boy and just needs a push in the right direction. His adoptive family only had him a week but here is what they say ' Zyrus will be such a great dog for someone (without cats) looking for a well behaved, house trained, leash trained, lovable, energetic goof' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175. All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A secure physically fenced yard is required.
