SHANNON (ID #A1964959) is as sweet as sugar, and it's shocking that she is in the shelter, for nearly a month now. She entered the East Valley Animal Shelter, Van Nuys, CA, as a 'stray' on January 26, and her 'family' has not gone to redeem her. All the better for a more responsible and more committed family to adopt her and protect her, forevermore. SHANNON is 2-years-old and weighs 70 pounds, and it's obvious that she's stunning. I'm not the only one who has been charmed by SHANNON. Here are notes that have been logged by other volunteers and staff after interacting with her: 'Date of Interaction: 2/22/2021 Animals: SHANNON (#A1964959) Easy to leash inside kennel. A bit of a leaner when walking. Noticed when in the yard she may have issues with hind legs- seems almost bow-legged. a bit timid, nervous of loud noises and barking dogs. does not pull and is easy to handle on leash. Leans into you for affection and likes to be pet. She seemed to bond quickly as she was following me around the yard and looking back when other handler began to walk her. Easy to return to kennels and allowed petting all over in kennel. Nice dog! Date of Interaction: 2/16/2021 Animals: SHANNON (#A1964959) Shannon female shepherd. Easy to get out of kennel. Friendly, takes treats gently. Shy and timid. Will follow around yard but doesn't engage in play. She got excited when two dogs came into the adjacent yard. She engaged playfully and ran along fence with other dogs in adjacent yard. PLAY GROUP (Fri, Feb 5, 2021 11:02 AM) did better with a G/D male had interest in an energetic female at the gate but became reactive to her fast movements. Showed interest with the G/D male in her yard. Explored, came up to the handler. Did not engage in play' Please Share SHANNON so she will be seen by someone who will want to take her from the shelter and provide her shelter her in a loving home (yes, she is an indoor pet).
