Smiles is a 4-5 year old Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Dog. She came to rescue with a litter of puppies who have been rehomed. An elderly couple had her and the gentleman of the home had end stage lung cancer. They simply were overwhelmed and unable to vet or care for their pets. We took them in and vetted them all. Smiles had heartworms and had to undergo treatment for them and is now recovered. Smiles also has her front teeth wore down due to chewing on something hard....possibly a fence or pieces of wood. She has beautiful K 9s though and loves to smile at her people and show them. It is quite endearing. She is a gentle dog and VERY passive. She gets along with everyone. She would probably do well with a cat, but we don't have one to test that theory. She is quiet and low energy. She seeks to be near her person for comfort, but is not overbearing. She would make an elderly person or couple the PERFECT pet. She will walk on a leash at times, but sits if she gets scared. She is also house trained with a doggie door. She has all her vaccines, spayed, heart worm negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in Smiles, please apply online at brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.com .
