About Rufus

Adoption Fee: $300.00
Border Terrier / Schnauzer
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Rufus and Mini are an adorable, bonded pair in search of their forever home together. Rufus is a 6-year-old, neutered/male terrier mix, who weighs 18lbs fully grown. Mini is a 9-year-old Miniature Pincher mix that weighs about 13lbs and is also fully grown. Rufus is a fun-loving guy that loves to play with his stuffed animals. Mini is the more relaxed one out of the pair. They both are very affectionate and will soak in all of the attention that you are willing to give them. They both love to go on long walks or even hikes! Mini isn't very fond of other female dogs, but otherwise they do well with other small dogs. Mini was attacked by a large dog previously and is now afraid of them. A dog introduction would be required prior to adoption to ensure a good fit if you have any other dogs in the home. They would thrive best with older, mature children (10+ years) who will respect their boundaries. Mini tends to not be able to control her 'inside voice' and because of this, they cannot go to an apartment or home that shares common walls to avoid upsetting the neighbors. They would really love a yard to run around and do zoomies in! They are housetrained, but we recommend kenneling them when you are not home to avoid them from getting into any trouble while you are away. These two are such a joy and will be sure to fill any household they enter with pure happiness. Their adoption fee is $300 for the pair, which includes complimentary follow-up vet visits. They are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. To potentially adopt them, please come to our shelter location at 1102 W Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. --Covid update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 10 people in the building at a time.
