Cami is an approximately 8-12 year old spayed female Standard Aussie. Cami came into rescue in poor condition, underweight, with hair loss and skin inflammation after being witnessed being dumped on the side of the road. Cami had trouble supporting herself in her hind legs. Cami was taken into the vet for medical care and X-rays. Given her age her hips were actually in reasonable condition. It was also discovered she was heartworm positive. Cami underwent treatment for her heartworms, has gained weight and grown her coat back nice and thick. Cami continues to show some weakness especially in her left hind leg but she is able to get herself up and down and walk around the house and outside. She prefers to use the ramp but can maneuver a few steps as well when going outside. She enjoys lounging outside when the weather is nice or laying by the window to enjoy the sun. She is on joint supplements and an anti inflammatory to help her get around better. She enjoys a soft bed. She doesn't mind other dogs as long as they are not to rambunctious and give her her space. Puppies probably would not be appreciated. Cats aren't a big deal either. Cami would really enjoy a home that someone was home more than not so she can go potty when she needs to and she can just enjoy a companion. Because of Cami's age we consider her a hospice foster / adoption and are looking for a quiet home she can spend her final time with.
