Nelson is endearing with his great smile and happy, goofy personality. He was found at the southwest landfill wandering around, and was happy to approach someone so we could find him a home. He is super friendly and happy to do anything with people. He is about one year old, mixed breeds of German Shepherd and maybe Malinios, and weighs about 50 pounds. He walks like a dream on leash, but will need to learn some house manners. Nelson craves human interaction and is a super fast learner. He is learning some commands like come, sit, and down. It is likely cats may not be compatible, and children that are over 12 may be best due to Nelson's energetic nature. Nelson would be an excellent partner for an active outdoor person or family. He likes car rides and adventures. A female dog companion may be possible but unknown for sure. PACA always does supervised meet and greets to see if dogs are compatible before any commitment is required. PACA is a foster based rescue with no shelter to view our dogs. We have temporarily stopped all our public adoption events due to COVID-19, however we are still placing dog into loving homes by private appointment with approved applications. Completed applications will be given to the foster to coordinate meetings as everyone feels comfortable. This application helps us get to know you and your family a little better so we can find the perfect match! Application are found here: http://www.nmpaca.org/images/pdf_files/PACA_Adoption_Application.pdf Please email completed applications to [email protected] All our animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for tic born illness and heartworm prior to adoption. Our fee is $175.
