****Not currently taking new applications This is Tuf, a male Australian Cattledog who was born 12/28/2019. He weighs 42 pounds. Tuf knows a lot: Sit, down, come, go lay down, drop, leave it, bring, off, back seat, and up. He is also house and crate trained. Tuf is good with people. He would be fine in a home with older kids. Tuf is also good with other dogs. He prefers dogs who are calmer than he is. He does require a careful intro to each new dog as he is leash reactive at first. After a proper intro, he can play well with dogs who play nicely. He did enjoy a playgroup when he got to go once. It's just the leash that has him being reactive. He also walks nicely on leash and needs someone who will continue to work with him on this. Tuf is also good with dog-savvy cats. He seeps with the cat he lives with. Tuf is active. Very active. If you think some fetch and a few miles a say will do it, he is not your dog. His current family has never been able to wear him out. He absolutely is obsessed with fetch. He will play until you are tired. His play time should be limited to certain times so he knows there is up and down time. Tuf is usually good in the car. If left alone in the car, he sometimes will bark and whine at dogs and people passing by, but he sleeps and waits when nothing interesting is passing the car. Tuf loves his people and wants to be with them at all times. He is not a dog for an apartment or someone who works full time outside of the home. He really wants to please ans can't wait to be told what to do next. He is quick to pick up new tricks and is very smart. Tufs ideal home would be with a family of at least 2+ people, one person would not be enough. He would love another dog who likes to play at least half as much as he does. He would not do well in a home where he is left alone for long periods of time. He is extremely high energy and needs someone is very active who wants a dog who keeps up with them. Tuf is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Temecula, CA. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt in SoCal. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
