About Klondike

Klondike is a sensitive young man hoping to find a gentle and loving family to help him come out of his shell. He is a 1.5 year old German Pinscher mix who weighs about 19.2 pounds and is fully grown. Klondike is a gentle soul who is frightened of people and new situations, so he will need a very patient family willing to give him all the time he needs to feel safe with them. He was humanely trapped by HARTT after he was seen wandering the streets, and then brought to us. He has slowly been learning that people can be trusted, and will approach those he knows and allow gentle petting. Klondike does great with dogs of all sizes and must have at least one other dog in his forever home to help him feel comfortable. He also requires a very securely fenced in yard as he is an escape artist and is still too timid to go for walks. He has never been around children that we know of, but may be okay with older (10 years +) dog savvy children. He will need ongoing work on his potty training and basic obedience as he gradually gains confidence in his new home. Klondike is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and vet checked. His adoption fee of $200 includes a complimentary vet visit. To potentially adopt him, please come to our shelter location at 1102 W Hatcher Rd in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. --Covid update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 10 people in the building at a time.
