About ONNA

German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

HI - I'M ONNA! I'm a beautiful female 5-year-old German Shepherd in need of a home. I am currently in a foster home in the Seattle area and am waiting for my forever home! I would make a wonderful companion for walks, hikes, watching TV, or road trips, and I weigh 76 lbs.%A0 Some great things about me: I am extremely friendly with both adults and children, and I truly do love kids! I am 100% housetrained and never have accidents in the home. I'm very affectionate, and love to give kisses! I love to be petted and be by your side. I also do like my personal space, and don't like it invaded too much when I'm in the mood to be alone. I take food/treats gently from a hand, though I love to rough-house when I play. I get very excited when it's time to go for a walk - I love outings! Sometimes I get so excited I do the zoomies! I'm also extremely playful. In fact, I'd be great in a home with lots of kids who want to play constantly with me. I love playing tug-of-war. I am very athletic, and despite my age need lots of walks and I will want to play ball at least every other day or I may whine a bit. One of my best attributes is that I am smart. I figured out how to open the front door by scratching at the lever-style handle. %A0My foster dad had to change it to a knob! I also understand a lot of English words so feel%A0free to talk with me!%A0 I am not overly protective, and will let anyone walk into the home. I'm a very welcoming girl.%A0 I'm also very curious. I love to inspect everything. I'm very aware of my surroundings.%A0 I do not have separation anxiety, and do not bark or chew when left home alone.%A0 For the most part, I'm a quiet girl. I will bark if in the proximity of another dog, but that is the only time.%A0 A few things I need to work on: I'm quite leash reactive around other dogs and will bark when they are in the proximity. I especially do not like small dogs but while at the shelter, where I came from, I played with other large dogs. I possibly could learn to live with%A0another large dog if my adopter was experienced and patient with introductions. I also am not good with cats and will chase them.%A0 I'm not afraid of other dogs, but I am afraid of loud noises, such as the vacuum, fireworks, loud cars and trucks.%A0 My ideal world is one where I get plenty of exercise and where I can thrive as a wonderful, only dog with a great person, couple, or family.%A0
