About Precious

Introducing pretty Precious! Precious is a pretty little Pomeranian Chihuahua mix. She is about 18 months old and weighs 12 pounds. She is a very sweet and loving little girl once she knows you, but with anyone new she is nervous and skittish. She might fear nip a stranger and is not good with kids. She is one of those dogs that adjusts well as long as she has someone she trusts, and once she trusts you, she will be your baby! She gets along well with other dogs and likes playing with them. We think she would do best in a home with other dogs, especially another very playful one. She loves playing chase and tug of war with her foster siblings, and wrestling on her foster mom's bed with a furbuddy. When she isn't playing she wants to cuddle up on the couch with her foster mom or follow her around. Whether it's snuggles on the couch or cuddles at night in the big bed, she is happy to share her human with fursiblings but she likes to be the one snuggled up closest to her person. Precious is still a young, playful pup with lots of energy and she needs a fenced yard to run and play in. She should not be left out unsupervised ever, because if she gets out she will run. She got loose from her original home and was gone 2 days before they found her at the shelter! She is very smart and inquisitive and willing to learn new things. Her foster mom is currently teaching her to walk on a leash and working with her on potty training. With a little patience, she learns pretty quickly. She does like to carry things around that she finds lying around, including shoes, but she just takes them outside and adds them to a little pile of treasures! Her new family should provide her with a variety of play toys and chew toys like, Nyla bones or deer antlers that she chews every day to help keep her entertained and away from chewing things that she shouldn't. She hasn't been cat tested but she shared her previous yard with a pet pot bellied pig and they played together! Precious has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, has had a 12 month ProHeart injection, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay is scheduled soon and is covered by the rescue as long as it is done at our vet. Precious is a sweet girl who just needs the right family to give her the love and attention she needs to blossom into a truly loving companion.
