Hi, my name is BEBE - ID#A3066986. I am a spayed female, brindle and tricolor Akita, and I weigh about 62 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 9 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Nov 27, 2020. If you're looking for a chill, low-maintenance dog, this absolutely beautiful girl may be the perfect match for you! Bebe is an older lady who recently turned up as a stray and was brought to the shelter by a kind citizen. In our attempts to return her to her home, we were told that her last known owner had passed away - leaving sweet Bebe in need of a new family. She's been here in the shelter for a week now, and at nine years old, she would no doubt like to find her forever home as soon as possible to start enjoying her golden years. Bebe has been able to coexist with other similarly-sized dogs she's met here in the shelter, but wasn't particularly interested in interacting with them. You're encouraged to bring your dog(s) along to the shelter for a meet-and-greet to see how they get along before adopting. She has been very calm and has allowed all handling and petting by our staff. Bebe is a brindle and white Akita - if you're not familiar with the breed, Akitas are known for being indifferent toward strangers, but are also prized for their loyalty to their owners. They have a silly and affectionate side that they tend to reserve for their family. This means that there's a good chance you'll be ignored by Bebe when you first meet, but if you take a little time to build a friendship, you'll be rewarded with a very devoted (and beautiful!) friend. Bebe is already spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated - and like many of our pets, she's ready to go home with you as soon as today.
