About HANK 2

Hi, I'm Hank, a beautiful cream and black 3 yr old German Shepherd mix. I'm a very sweet, happy, feisty pup! I love to run and jump and play with my foster daddy and my best husky buddy Bandit! I HOWL without my buddy Bandit -- COULD YOU PLEASE ADOPT US BOTH TOGETHER?? I'm a jumper, so I need a house with a decent sized back yard and a 6' tall wooden fence. I need to be an indoor/outdoor dog, though, bc I love to be with my humans! Got doggy door??! From my foster daddy: HANK IS A FIESTY, PLAYFUL, HAPPY DOG! He needs a little training (we can help you with that!), as he tends to jump on me at first bc HE'S SO GLAD TO SEE ME! Once he calms down, HE WANTS TO BE NEAR ME ALL THE TIME and SHOWS OVERWHELMING LOVE!! :) HE WILL LAY NEAR ME, SOMETIMES W HIS HEAD ON MY FOOT. :) HE GETS ALONG W PEOPLE, KIDS (WE HAVE A 2 YO GRANDCHILD), AND OUR OTHER DOG. HE HAS A VERY PLAYFUL TEMPERAMENT. HE LOVES TO WRESTLE WITH HIS MALE DOG BUDDY, BANDIT. THEY PLAY ALL THE TIME & HE HAS NO AGGRESSION TOWARDS DOGS OR PEOPLE. He may be a bit shy for the first day or 2, but then he falls in love & HE WOULD MAKE A FINE PET IF YOU HAVE OTHER PETS, KIDS, ADULTS! I HAVE WATCHED HIM AROUND OUR 2 yr old GRANDDAUGHTER for 2 MOS. He is sweet & interested in her and tries to get closer for a sniff, but just to be extra cautious (bc she is so young), I keep him from getting too close. HE HAS NEVER KNOCKED HER OVER NOR HURT HER IN ANY WAY. HE IS VERY GOOD WALKING W A LEASH AND A CHOKER CHAIN. I KEEP HIM ON THE LEFT SIDE AND CORRECT HIM WITH SLIGHT TUGS ON THE LEASH. HE BARKS AT OTHER DOGS & SQUIRRELS IN THE YARD, BUT IS NOT TOO BAD ABOUT BARKING. HE DOES HOWL WHEN SEPARATED FROM HIS HUSKY BUDDY BANDIT. PLEASE KEEP THEM TOGETHER, IF POSSIBLE! HANK GETS UPSET WHEN YOU TAKE BANDIT FOR A WALK WO HIM. HE HOWLS AND HAS JUMPED A 4 ' FENCE W EASE 3 TIMES TO COME JOIN US! I RECOMMEND @ LEAST A 6' FENCE (OR MAYBE AN INVISIBLE FENCE TO TRAIN HIM OUT OF THIS BEHAVIOR). I WOULD NOT TRUST HIM IF SOMEONE LEFT THE GATE OPEN -- HE WILL RUN OFF. Hank will likely need some work on potty training bc he has had to spend a lot of time outside. He is NOT cat tested and we haven't tried crate training, so unsure about that. We feed him Purina One -- Lamb & Rice -- with a dash of DINOVITE supplements, twice/day, 1-1/2 cups/feeding. **As with ALL DOGS, Hank should be fed in a SEPARATE room from any other dogs so there is no competition over food.** WILL YOU GIVE SWEET HANK AND BANDIT A LOVING HOME AND FAMILY TO CHERISH??
