Lawrenceville, GA Here is a gentle Giant Beauty for you . 3 year old Great Pyrenees MILLIE with a sad story. Millie was an emotional support dog for an adult cancer survivor and an autistic young man. She was very close with her two male figures in her life until the human female party decided to no longer allow Millie in the home because of her shedding and occasional barking when her favorite humans left. It was one heart break after another and even with all support from our side Millie had to go and was surrendered to us. Not only did Millie lose her human but also the man and boy lost their best friend. Millie is amazingly sweet, house trained, fantastic with OLDER children (TEENAGERS), loves her walks and enjoys car rides. SHE HAS TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME and she is literally a guard dog. She will protect her family from strangers entering the home. She also has resource guarding (food and chew toys) She is NOT an option as a LGD dog!!!!! We would love to find a home for Millie with someone who has experience with the breed and is experienced in training and reinforcement of it. What you need to know about the breed: The Great Pyrenees is a calm, well-mannered, serious dog known for his great devotion to family, including well-behaved children. These dogs are generally trustworthy, affectionate and gentle, but if the need arises, they will not hesitate to try to protect their family and their territory. They usually weigh over 100lbs and do require grooming and brushing as they shed. The breed needs plenty of exercise otherwise they will try to get out of their yard and start to roam.
