About Huey

Huey is a boxer with a beautiful brindle coat who was found as a stray in a suburb of Houston. He is about 54 lbs. and 1 year old, so he should be just about done growing. He has a little bit of nervous energy at first, but we think he is just scared with all the noise - he does just fine when he's out of the chaotic shelter, and he loves to get affection. He is not jumpy and appears to have a pretty laid back demeanor in general. He seems to be housetrained as he holds it all in until a volunteer can get him outside, and he walks very well on a leash. Huey is heartworm negative and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. This chill guy is in a small city shelter, not with a rescue/foster, and the shelter is FULL, so we need to find him a forever home as soon as possible. We do have transport options but ONLY to homes with no other pets (because we have no way to test the pets with our dogs to make sure they're all compatible with each other.) We are in the Houston area but can transport to most of Texas, Washington State, Oregon, Maine, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.
