Anxious CC is a young boy feeling heartbroken & fearful at the shelter and needs to leave asap. His former owner says that this young boy knows the commands sit and stay. He is playful and excitable and His favorite toys include balls and bones. His favorite activity is playing fetch. CC needs TLC, stability and love! ************************************** ���%8D PLEASE Private Message OUR PAGE or email us at [email protected] if you can HELP���%8D ************************************** INTAKE DATE: 6-Oct-2020 Cc, ID# 102245, 1 old, 55 lbs, Manhattan ACC, Large Mixed Breed, White Neutered Male, Owner Surrender Reason: moving, having a newborn child and CC has tio many medical issues that they are unable to deal with Shelter Assessment Rating: New Hope Only No children (under 13) Medical Behavior Rating: OWNER SURRENDER NOTES - BASIC INFORMATION: CC is a year old LMB male dog who is being surrendered due to his family moving as well as having a newborn child in the home. The family also feels that CC has too many medical issues that they are unable to deal with at this time. CC previously lived with 2 adults and 2 children. He is described as being fearful around strangers. He will bark and growl at people he doesn't know and may lunge while doing so. CC has spent time with a 4 year old as well as a 5 month old child. He is described as being relaxed, respectful and tolerant. He will play gently with children. CC has not been observed interacting with other dogs. He will bark and growl at other dogs in passing. CC has not been observed around cats. No resource guarding has been observed. CC allowed his previous family to take away food and toy items without any issue. CC has no bite history.His previous family describes his energy level as extremely high. For a New Family to Know The previous owner would like a new family to know that CC is a playful and excitable yet fearful and anxious boy. He is familiar with the commands sit and stay. His favorite toys include balls and bones and his favorite activity is playing fetch. Other Notes: In the previous home, CC was fearful when being bathed. He will growl snap or bite when having his feet touched or nails trimmed. On leash CC does pull very hard and should be kept on a short leash. CC was being fed a mix of wet and dry Dog Chow 2 times a day. Has this dog ever had any medical issues? Yes Medical Notes The previous owner reports CC as having skin issues including swelling, itchiness, redness and irritation as well as hot spots. During intake to the care center, Cc displayed a loose body and jumped up to greet a staff member, allowing petting. After about 30 seconds, Cc snarled and jumped up, snapping at the staff member's chin but her face was covered by a mask. When the counselor tried to push Cc away, he bit her hand but it is unclear if Cc bit or his mouth was already open and hit her hand. No skin was broken. Housetrained: Partially Energy level/descriptors: Extremely high level of energy Other Notes: Cc is reported to be fearful while being bathed. He will growl, snap or bite when having his feet touched or nails trimmed. SHELTER ASSESSMENT: Date of assessment: 8-Oct-2020 Summary: Due to Cc's reported behavior towards unfamiliar people, attempting to bite a handler at intake to the care center, and the behavior he continues to display in kennel when handlers attempt to interact with him, he is not a safe candidate for a handling assessment.
