About Rory

Meet Rory, a true survivor! He is a 2 year old Terrier mix who weighs just 7 pounds and is full grown. This tiny terrier was roaming the streets for who knows how long before he was thankfully trapped by HARTT and brought safely into the rescue. It wasn't long before we discovered the sad truth - his little body was riddled with bb pellets. He also had numerous old wounds and scabs matted into his fur. A good grooming and surgery to remove those pellets has him feeling like a brand new dog! Despite his rough past, Rory is the absolute sweetest little dog who adores people and wants to cuddle as much as possible. He also loves to play with toys and would do best with an active family who will take him on long walks at the park to appease his explorer's nature. He is a remarkably fast runner who won't hesitate to dart off and explore on his own given the opportunity, so he must have a very secure yard and a conscientious family to keep him safe. He has never been around children that we know of, but may do well with kids who are old enough to give him time to warm up to them, and also old enough to understand the importance of keeping doors shut to prevent any solo adventures. He gets along well with other dogs in social situations, but can be very possessive of his food and his people. He may do best as an only dog, or with one other dog who doesn't mind letting Rory monopolize their humans.He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped.
