About Skye

Introducing Skye, a beautiful 4-5 year old, 11 pound Italian Greyhound. Skye is a sweet timid boy who is still figuring out how to be a pet, but each day he makes a little more progress. He used to run and hide behind furniture if approached, but his foster mom can walk up to him and pick him up now. He doesn't cringe when touched and takes treats out of her hand! This is a huge step for Skye toward trusting people. Once he knows you he will let you pet him. He sits in the chair beside his foster family and sleeps in bed with them too. We are hoping to find an adopter who has experience with Italian Greyhounds to help him continue his journey toward trusting and loving people. Skye is great with other dogs and will play with them when he gets comfortable and he likes to lie in a dog bed with them. A home with another dog or dogs is a must for him. He will look to them for confidence and cues on how to act in a new home. He is housebroken and will go out and come back in with the other dogs after going potty. In the beginning, he may need to be carried in and out. He is still afraid of loud noises and the unknown, and he's not the best on a leash, so a fenced yard is a must for this boy. Skye is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration.
