Taiga is looking to find her forever home! She is still currently on medication for the treatment of an eye infection, but can go home October 27th! Named after the vast forest in Siberia, Taiga is a young 4. Year old female cat with the coziest fur ever. She appears to be part Maine Coon, but we cannot guarantee the breeds of any of our cats. We took in Taiga in from Atlanta, where she had been taken in after her shelter in Mobile flooded during hurricane Sally. As if she was not already traumatized from being rescued from a flooding building, she has also had to overcome some medical hurdles. She came to us with an eye infection, which has been clearing up. We also were not aware that she was spayed, so she had to undergo surgery before our vets realized that. Taiga's foster says she is still decompressing from the past few weeks of high stress, but she is coming around. At first she wanted to hide all day under the bed, but now she happily sits in the living room with their household. New people still startle her, but she is learning to make friends. Funny enough Taiga actually prefers her foster's boyfriend of all people, so perhaps she was owned by a man before shelter life. It's been very rewarding to watch her learn to open up and even attempt to play. Taiga is litter box trained and very respectful for her foster's home. Her adoption fee is $50 which includes vaccines, microchipping, and worming.
