Mars is between 5-7 years old. Pit/boxer mix. Approx 45-50 lbs. He is house and crate trained and knows basic commands. He is selective with other dogs and prefers to be top dog. He is not good with small furry critters like cats or chickens. He has a prey drive and is protective over his 'things' (toys, bed, crate, bowls). He is a good boy at bath time but hates having his toenails clipped. Loves to cuddle and play. Mars is high energy and his favorite past time is patrolling the yard for crittery intruders. As much as he loves patrolling the perimeter, he must be an inside dog and should not be left outside unattended. He has a soft trachea and can over heat easily. This also means a collar can be worn but should not be used to leash walk or restrain. He will need a strong harness and/or gentle lead. He is not much of a chewer and tends to ignore his bones and chew toys. His ideal home would be a mature household, large yard to run in, and preferably an only pet. Someone who would like a running or walking partner would be perfect. Bonus points if his future family can appreciate his vigilance against sketchy cats and chickens. Can you be the one?
