Jewel was found abandoned, soaking wet in a creek in Baltimore city. She was taken to the local shelter but no one ever came looking for her. She was scared to death, so she went to a foster home to decompress. She was lactating at the time, so it seems like she had her puppies and was discarded like trash فظ÷¢ After a few weeks, Jewel has come out of her shell and is such a happy, sweet girl. She is now looking for her happy ending. A forever home of her own. Jewel can still be nervous and startles easily. I suggest that she doesn't live with young, rambunctious children. She likes to chase cats, so no cats. She has done well with the other dogs in her foster home after a slow introduction. She is fairly low energy. She enjoys lounging indoors or out. We do not know her actual breed. Her boxed head may be deemed a bully mix, therefore she needs a home without breed restrictions. Jewel is a very sweet girl and will be an amazing addition to your home. She is current on vaccines & microchipped. Our vet feels she needs to lose about 5 - 10 pounds before she can safely be spayed. We hope she can get the exercise she needs to lose weight in a private home. Once ready, the rescue will pay for her spay surgery at a low cost clinic near her adopter. Send us a message to meet this beautiful girl.
