Poor Rocky Dee, his owner adopted him from the ACC when he was an even younger puppy. Well now at 11 months old his owner decided to move and Rocky is not welcome to come along. Rocky doesn't understand what he did wrong and we know he didn't do anything wrong. This good boy loves to play, exercise, and get love. Please there has to be one person in a sea of millions who will step up and give this boy what he oh so deserves. And show him he is wanted, loved and always be with him forever. Instead of constantly being tossed out like garbage never wanted... will you help him?? MY MOVIES! Call in love with this adorable babies videos ! See what a good boy I am? https://youtu.be/dJEX8gGlBac Rocky Dee makes a friend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR2xx5JoUkQ Rocky Dee 89375 Must be placed by noon on 10/1 Rocky has been reported to be fearful of strangers, children, and other dogs and took at least a week to become comfortable with most handlers at the care center. He has shown social behavior with known handlers in the yard but has shown reactivity while on-leash and in the kennel even with handlers he knows. Rocky had a bite incident at the care center while being walked through the hall. More recently, he has started showing some potential arousal challenges, reacting to other dogs he sees, then jumping up, mouthing handlers, and grabbing and holding onto their clothing. In kennel, he jumps up and hard barks which suggests some barrier frustration. Rocky was also observed to have dog reactivity as shown when he tries to lunge at dogs while passing their kennels. Rocky has been reported to display some handling sensitivities and potential separation anxiety in his previous home. He will have accidents and become destructive when left home alone. Rocky is a young, active, social dog that could benefit from a proper period of decompression as well as overall training to help him learn good behaviors. We are recommending an adult-only, single-pet foster home with a New Hope partner prepared to work on his overall training as well as his reactivity using positive reinforcement, reward based training. A staff member writes: Call me Rocky Dee-lectable (89375) because although I look delish, I need the right human partner, who also thinks so! I need a dedicated human, who is willing to train, interact, and exercise me daily, in order, to channel my pent up energy into positive energy. Due to my history, I should live in a quiet neighborhood without much foot traffic because I am fearful of strangers. I have a medium level of energy, but am strong and pull hard when walked. The behavior team has been doing a great job modifying my behavior and decreasing my stress level. I love seeking contact, soliciting attention, and leaning in with familiar members of the Behavior team, but not the new ones. I can be social and friendly; I am receptive to treats and take them gently. According to my behavior assessment, 'reactivity to dogs: moderate - dog barks / lunges once; recovers immediately after passing.' I have been in shelter since May 10.
