About HARMONY

PPLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU RESPOND. HARMONY is a sweet lady! When her human mama passed away, the children decided to take her to the shelter. We were told that they had promised their mother that they would be taking her in. While she was at the shelter, a nice rescue decided to save her. They had transported her to a facility where she was going to be boarded and there she started to act up. Nobody could touch her and she was very angry. We got the phone call because we love kitties like that. We think they just need a second chance. Now our big girl is ready for her forever home! As you can see in the video, she still has a lot of spunk left in her. She does well with other cats but we believe she should be the diva of her own home! She loves treats, toys and tall cat trees. She purrs really loud! HARMONY has the personality of a typical Egyptian MAU. When the Egyptian Mau is happy, you know it. She vocalizes (called chortling) in a quiet, pleasant voice, swishes her tail rapidly, and kneads with her front paws. What makes her happy is being with her family, to whom she is fiercely devoted, or showing off her hunting prowess by chasing and retrieving a tossed toy or stalking and pouncing on a wriggling lure at the end of a fishing pole toy. She is a moderately to highly active cat. She likes to jump and climb and will appreciate a tall cat tree, a window perch or two, and a sturdy scratching post that allows her to stretch out to full height. The Mau also enjoys playing in water. Don't be surprised to find her dipping a paw into the aquarium, turning on the tap in the bathroom or kitchen or splashing water out of her water dish. Every person that goes into the PetSmart (when she has been there) to meet other cats she always has to be the first one to greet them. HARMONY can be feisty...but what DIVA isn't? She's a very sweet, vocal, DIVA that deserves a real home where she's not going to be tossed into the shelter after her humans die. Will you give her a chance? HARMONY is an DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR EGYPTIAN MAU MIX. She is about 6 years old and is tolerant of other cats and non - reactive with dogs. He has never been around children. HARMONY is currently located at our rescue in Hemet, Ca. JANUARY 2021: With all the needed social distancing...we are still doing adoptions. We can do meet and greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at any PETSMART. But steps 1. thru 3. of the ADOPTION PROCESS must be done first. VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to do meet and greets...not PETSMART employees. Gas donations always appreciated! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Submit Application 2. Interview 3. Will be notified of Approved Application 4. Meet and Greet with Kitty 5. Sign Adoption Contract 6. Pay Adoption Fee 7. Take the Kitty Home 8. Home Check (scheduled at a later date) The information you fill out on THIS website is NOT the application. An actual application can be requested to be sent by email. We are all volunteers that run the rescue so if we haven't reached out be patient. Also, we are an all VOLUNTEER rescue, meaning we are not a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescues. So we do not do DISCOUNTS.
