About Red

Adoption Fee: $350
Mastiff / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Name:Red Breed: Lab/Mastiff mix Age: 1 year Sex: Male Location: Oklahoma city - Adoption NATIONWIDE with Delivery! We've been a bit quiet about Red as we work his social skills, but don't think we've forgotten! Red, the beautiful lab/mastiff mix is 1 year old, and has come so far. Red came to us from a huge hoarding case in rural Oklahoma, where he was one of 36 dogs we rescued that had never been handled by humans. He has lived his life since he was 10 weeks old in our rescue in a few foster homes and has really come a long way. He is amazing in his foster home, but needs confidence when he is out in the world! He needs someone to help build his confidence on leash and help with his basic skills. He is crate trained, potty trained and has the potential to really do well given the right direction and training. He can jump a 4 foot fence, so a taller fence or always on leash would be required. He absolutely loves children and gravitates towards those with special needs, he is shy and a bit timid when he meets new people - children make him feel safe! He really is capable of so much but just needs a family to call his own and give him the stability required to thrive! Although some regression is normal once in his furever environment (at FURST! Ha...ha...), this shows his potential!! He is very food motivated, and so smart! He is ready to settle into his family and continue to grow. He has some mild anxiety when riding in the car (panting) but no other issue. He has proven to be most successful when crated or with another dog companion with confidence. Red absolutely loves dogs, would do best with another dog that has confidence in the family; as he is working on trusting all people. Another dog to speak his language and show him it's okay has been best! Can you show Red the world is safe and give this sweet boy a forever home??
