About Bear

Note, we are not novices with dogs. We have worked with many issues including aggression. Do not think that Bear's behavior can be changed. He is a dog who needs space and must have a no dog home. We are asking a small fee to ensure he goes to a good home. This is negotiable to rescues only. Bear needs a home where he can roam free acres without other animals (other than chickens, cows, etc.). 99.9 percent of the time he is amazing with all animals. However, even while supervised, Bear has attacked other dogs thinking he was defending himself. The .1% of the time is not a risk or burden to take. Bear spent the first year of his life (before us) fighting off coyotes as pup, living outdoors. For this reason he has a slightly higher trip for fight or flight-he is socialized to think other dogs are a threat. When play gets too exciting for him, he trips. He is otherwise a great, old soul who just lounges around. He would make a great fit for someone who could offer him companionship. He is house trained, UTD on all vaccines, DNA tested, neutered. He knows basic commands. He is good with kids and people. No cats or dogs. He is four years old and about 70 lbs. He is a mutt. We will drive quite a distance to ensure he goes to a good home.
