'A little birdie has been telling some secrets around here and the secret that I heard was that I'm a volunteer favorite... say what!? Anyways, my name is Ziva and I'm a 3-4 year old English (Redtick) Coonhound that came to SVASC as a stray and was never reclaimed. I am a really, really sweet dog and know that I'm going to make someone a really excellent friend. I can be just a teeny bit on the timid side, especially at first, but I really open up once I get to know you. I don't think that I've ever lived indoors because being inside seems to scare me a little, but if you meet me outside, I am way more confident. I will just need a family that can take things slow at first. I have met a few dogs at the shelter and seem to make friends pretty easily. Once I get my footing, I am a very social dog and enjoy playing with other pups. I think that I would do well in a home with another dog, but SVASC does recommend that the whole family come by to meet me before I go home, if possible. I should also do okay with kids, but would do best in a home with slightly older children, at least until I am accustomed to my new home. My adoption fee is $125 to an approved adopter. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142 or stop by the shelter during open hours. SVASC is located at 1001 Mt. Torrey Rd. Lyndhurst, VA.'
