We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. T-Bone was surrendered to a kill shelter in CA by his owner stating they had no time for him. Unfortunately this little fellow was going to fall between the cracks & lose his precious life. A 72 hour notice was sent out for rescues to help this boy, but no one came for him as he was extremely terrified & very nervous in the shelter & he didn't present well. Who could blame him, he lost the only home he had known & was about to lose his life. The shelter said he was very uncomfortable with being handled. We wanted to help this boy & give him a wonderful new life. Thank goodness we did because we were his last hope & we discovered medically that poor sweet T-Bone was in a tremendous amount of pain & suffering for who knows how long? He had been attacked by a dog, he needed surgery for that, his poor mouth had a mouth full of rotten teeth & he had a possible ruptured ear & ear infections. After we got T-Bone to our vets & got him his surgeries where he did have 5 complex teeth extracted along with a full dental & polish & several other extractions. Surgery to repair the bite wound from the dog attack & while he was under anesthesia it was discovered that poor beautiful T-Bone had a ruptured ear drum so he was then treated for his ear to start the recovery process. It appeared that this poor boy sweet soul had been suffering for quite some time. After all his care with our wonderful vets T-Bone was bought back to WA state from CA where he can't wait to find a home who will be patient with him & understanding of everything he has been through. We believe that T-Bone was not treated kindly in his previous home & was showing signs of being ill-treated. T-Bone is being worked with daily to teach him that not humans are unkind. He has already come some far with his trust building but will still need continued time to build trust. He is such a nice boy who just wants to be loved & cared for. With new people while patting T-Bone he will sometimes growl but then sometimes he doesn't but that being said he will still take a treat from you. T-Bone has also now started nudging people who were patting him if they stop to continue on patting him. This fella has really began to trust the people around him & know that he can count on them. He is shy & not trusting at first until he trusts you. The people he does know & trust he will walk up to & want to be patted from. What we have discovered is he so enjoys the company of other dogs & being with other dogs. T-Bone we believe has never been taught to walk on a harness or leash & possibly the very first time was with our rescue. He will still need continued work on walking on a harness & leash. T-Bone definitely enjoys eating & he does ride well in the car & enjoys a good journey. This boy does not being in a crate so he needs a crate free home. We are looking for a forever home for T-Bone where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. T-Bone needs a fully fenced backyard & enjoys being with other dogs so he requires a fully fenced secure backyard & another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. This is mandatory for his new home. T-Bone is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. We are also looking for a home for T-Bone who does have rescue experience with trauma dogs who understands that this sweet boy needs patience & love. T-Bone has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs here in WA & was in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company & playing with them. It's mandatory for him to be in a home with another dog or other playful dogs to continue for him to thrive. T-Bone is roughly 7 years old & 19.00 lbs & is perhaps a Australian cattle dog mix, male, received surgery for a dog bite, had a major dental with many extractions .
