Please know that we will ask for a vet reference. Blue is a hunting dog that someone was going to 'put down'. He was taken in by good samaritans. He is completely blind. The vet isn't sure what would have caused the blindness but said it looked irreversible. Blue's current care givers are older and are not able to provide the care he needs. They took him in to save him but he is in need of a permanent home. Name: Blue Age: Approximately 2 years old Breed: Blue tick hound (48#) Sex: Male (not neutered) Location: Avery County, North Carolina Vet Info: Unneutered male. Current on vaccinations. Heartworm negative. Vet reports in good health other than blindness. The hunter who previously owned Blue said he didn't even know Blue was blind. He wouldn't hunt and the man must have basically left him in his pen. Hunter said he didn't give Blue ivermectin so the vet was not sure what else could have caused the damage. His good samaritan's report that Blue has figured out where his food water and bed are and doesn't run into things. According to his caregivers 'Blue has been great meeting other dogs and cats. He hasn't been inside much but has not had any accidents in the house. He likes to ride in the car and stick his head out the window. He's the sweetest boy!'
