About Heidi

Meet Heidi! She is a 6 year old, 12 pound Cairn/Westie terrier mix who was owner surrendered to us. Heidi is a sweet, friendly girl. She likes to be near you, sitting by your side, but not so much on your lap. She is good with both cats and dogs, but it may take her a day or two to adjust to a new dog and home. She has been around older kids and was fine with them. Heidi has moderate energy and she is still showing her personality as she gets comfortable in her foster home. So far she's a pretty laid back happy girl! Her foster mom says she only hears her bark when she gets home from work or occasionally with the other dogs. Heidi just started playing with dog toys, but is not yet playing with the dogs in her foster home. She would be good with others or as an only dog. She doesn't need a fenced yard as long as she gets lots of walks! Heidi LOVES walks and does great on a leash. She also does great in the car and enjoys sticking her head out the window to catch the breeze. She is working on her housebreaking and still has a few accidents in the house, but they are getting fewer every day. We think she will be potty trained in no time with the help of treats and lots of praise. Heidi is good in the house and can be left home alone without being confined to a crate or room. She doesn't chew anything and is very well behaved. At some point in her life she had an injury to her eye and is blind in that one eye, so if you come up on her left side without warning she may get startled. She has been to the vet for a wellness check and is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration.
