About Hamish

This handsome gent is Hamish, a herding lines bred Border Collie pup was born in March, 2020. He currently weighs about 20 pounds and will likely be 50 pounds when grown. Also, Hamish is deaf. So his adopters have to be ready for what comes with working lines (not the easy-going type of BC) and also be ready for deafness. Also, no small kids and no large families for this boy. His adopters must have plenty of time for Hamish. Hamish is a quick study. He already knows recall (comes when asked), sit, stay, and go where you point to (into crate, through a doorway, off the couch, etc). He knows what to do with a dog door and is also crate trained. Hamish is good with people. He is also good with dogs and cats. He likes to play, and some dogs may find him a bit overzealous. For dogs who like to play a hint rough, he is a fun pal. Hamish is also learning to fetch. He will chase a ball but has not yet learned to bring it back. Hamish will be a wonderful adventure partner. He is good on leash and good in the car, so he will be wonderful for hiking and such. Hamish is very smart and super sweet. He learns quickly and is very food motivated. He can be a little stubborn but, if you are firm with him, he will comply to the command. He will be good at agility as he climbed half-way up a chain link fence that was leaning slightly to say hi to a neighbor. He also thinks the wood pile is fun to play on. Hamish is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
