Do you believe in second chances? Imagine wandering the streets and fields for days...maybe weeks..... hungry, scared and in pain.... searching for food, water and shelter trying to escape the heat of summer and any predators. Imagine a tiny dog, less than 10 lbs., starving and dehydrated.....her toenails over an inch long curled under.... her matted coat one giant filthy knot pulling on her skin making every step painful and covering her eyes almost impossible to even see.... an ugly rash from dirt and grime embedded on her skin... her ears torn..... Imagine.... As fate has it, a good Samaritan found this lost soul bringing her to a wonderful shelter. She quickly became a shelter favorite. Her name is Fanny in honor of the shelter manager's sweet great great grandmother who also had a very rough life. She has now been nursed back to health. With a tail wag and an occasional doggie kiss, Fanny endured the uncomfortable shave, the many baths to clear her rash and getting her toenails cut. Even though this 4 - 5 yr old Poddle has some cataracts in her eyes which was probably caused by a scratch, she can see fine. She appears to have an old injury in one of her hind legs causing her to limp a little. But it does not slow her down at all. This resilient little angel has overcome so much adversity and also unimaginable neglect and injustice ...yet she has forgiven ALL that has happened to her in the past by her last human. This tiny 10.8 lbs girl is a fighter, a TRUE survivor and her happy, joyful personality is infectious and insurmountable - so uplifting during these trying times we are all going through this year. Fanny survived her horrific ordeal for a reason....... her journey on this earth is not over yet.....maybe she is supposed to be a 'soulmate', a 'healer' for a human who will look at her amazing spirit and deep into her sweet soul to see her beauty within.....helping this human to heal and to forgive ...just like she has healed and forgiven. www.k9rescuereferral.com/questionnaire.html
