About Jesse

Lab mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Jesse is a strikingly handsome and endlessly loving 49 lb. Lab mix. At just over a year old, Jesse gives you the best of both worlds. He's got the spirit of a goofy puppy dog (which explains his energetic, playful, and snuggly side), but the soul of a calm adult dog (content to settle by your side for a power snooze or chew time with his bone). This sweet boy loves to explore the outdoors, whether that be sniffing around the neighborhood or guiding you through a new trail. Jesse's all-time favorite activity is playing with other dogs, so he would thrive in a home with some canine pals or a good dog park nearby. He can be a little unsure in new or unpredictable situations, so he would prefer a home without young children or cats. You can expect to make plenty of new friends while walking Jesse, who is QUITE the charmer! As a social boy, he loves to meet new people-all it takes is one glance into his amber-colored eyes and a wag of his curlicue tail to melt their hearts. Nonetheless, he is first and foremost a dedicated companion to his family, and needs that same commitment to his growth and wellbeing in return. Jesse struggles with FOMO (and in this pandemic, who isn't suffering from 'fear of missing out') but is proud to announce that he's made great strides with his training thus far. The ideal family for Jesse has someone who works from home or will be around for a good portion of the day. With continuity in his 'alone time strategies,' Jesse will become the big, independent boy he knows he can be. Jesse walks well on a leash, is housetrained, sleeps through the night, and does wonderfully with commands, including sit, down, high five, come, and stay. He is highly food motivated and very eager to please, making him a quick learner. His heart is overflowing with love to give to the fur-ever home he's been waiting for-invest a little bit of time into Jesse, and you won't ever look back. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
