Sophie - ID #743509 - RESCUE ONLY Rancho Cucamonga Shelter, Rancho Cucamonga, So Cal From the Rescue Team at the 'Shelter: I am contacting you regarding a beautiful Lab mix at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center. We are seeking rescue for her because she needs to go to a home that can keep her separate from small dogs. Sophie (A743509) is an approximately 2-year-old spayed female Labrador Retriever weighing 47.4 lbs. She originally came in as a stray and was adopted from us at the beginning of the year, but was returned recently because her family fell on hard times due to the pandemic. She was adopted again shortly after, but returned because she went after the neighbor's small dog. The neighbor was with their small dog on the other side of a 4-foot fence when Sophie pushed off of the adopter's leg to boost herself over. She did not cause any injuries to the small dog before the adopter was able to grab her, but she did remove a clump of fur from it's back. According to her adopter, Sophie was a very sweet, cuddly girl who enjoys playing with her toys. She became anxious when left alone, but was showing signs of improvement as she adjusted to her new home. She was also adjusting well with supervised play times with their resident large dog. Sophie has been quite stressed after returning to the kennel environment.
