About Reggie (west)

SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA Hi, my name is REGGIE ID#A4446515. I am a neutered male, yellow and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 7 months old, and I have been at the shelter since July 22, 2020. Reggie needs a very quiet, calm and very understanding home. His situation is really sad and needs someone who knows how to help under-socialized dogs become better. Reggie spent about 5 months in a home, but didn't do well at all He is a very fearful dog. Here are the notes from his previous owner: 'Reggie is afraid of going on walks, but is mellow with no other dogs around. He is not a barker, and plays well by himself with his teddy bear. He also does not like baths or getting in water. He is a good boy, sleeps on the floor, and doesn't get on the furniture. He does not like being touched at all.' Reggie could be a great dog with some specialized training. We were unable to do a real dog-to-dog evaluation due to his fear of handling. Let's remember that Reggie is still just a puppy, and not knowing what triggered his fear should not be a reason to end his life. Please save this great little dog.
