About Lacey

Meet Lacey This gorgeous girl, Lacey, is absolutely incredible. She is pure delight and love. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter and arrived to the safety of our shelter on July 26, 2020. She's been with us a short amount of time, but she has quickly become a shelter favorite. Lacey is thought to be a Labrador/shepherd mix. She's about six months old. She has a beautiful black coat with a little bit of white. She has a wonderful personality. She's sweet and affectionate, a little submissive, but we're working on bringing her confidence level up with lots of love and kindness. She is even-keel and joyful. Lacey loves to run and play in the yard. She can entertain herself, but she really loves playing with her new yard mate, Andy. The two of them run and chase each other. After getting good and tired, Lacey loves jumping in the baby pool to cool off. She has a lot of good, positive energy. She would do well with an active family or person to take her running or hiking. She likes adventure. Exercise will be important for her happiness. Lacey walks well on a leash and enjoys being out with her person. She is smart and good-natured. She loves other dogs, gets along fine with cats, and loves being with people. She welcomes attention and treats, especially treats lol! Given her love of playing, she'd probably enjoy playing tag or fetch with kids. Lacey is still young and would do well with some consistency and gentle training. She's a quick study though and aims to please. We just love this young girl. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
