About WESLEY-Girl

Adoption Fee: $550
Black Mouth Cur / Pointer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

WESLEY-Girl was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine WESLEY is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She weighs around 55 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 4 May 2018. Since being at the rescue Wesley has been great, she is a loving, affectionate girl that needs an active family. A volunteer comes with her 9 year old children and they take her out for walks and to play. The children are able to comfortably and confidently walk her on the leash. She is well mannered, responsive and loving. She was initially in a kennel where she happily played with the other dogs in the kennels next to her and then as we had adoptions and more space I moved her in a double kennel with a German Shepherd and did great. Since then, she has been moved up to the house and was immediately comfortable being in a home environment. She claimed her spot on the couch to relax and is great wiht all the other dogs and pups, although doesn't care too much for fuss. When the smaller and younger dogs are wanting to jump on her, she will just move out of the way. She loves to wrestle with TOBY, another rescue here and they soon became good buddies. She is very responsive and gentle and would make a great family addition. Wesley lived with a foster family for the shelter before she came up to the rescue in Maine. They reported that she is such a happy loving dog and you will fall in love with her easily. She is scared of storms. She is an energetic two year old who loves attention, early mornings and long walks. She needs an active family and enjoyed at least a one mile walk twice a day which helped to release some of her high energy and then she would relax on the couch throughout the day waiting for her foster family to come home from work. She loves to play with toys and other dogs and needs a secure yard as she might want to go on her own adventures. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars. WESLEY is available for an adoption fee of US $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of saving all of the dogs we do, the running, upkeep and maintenance of the rescue. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. All that is needed to take dogs into Canada is a copy of the adoption contract (receipt) and current rabies for pups over 3 months of age.
