Finley is a chestnut and white approximately three-year-old female Setter that came into rescue when she did not work out as a hunting dog. She was brought into rescue and placed in a loving foster home. She is living in a home with another female setter that is gentle and playful. Finley likes to be in charge and prefers a submissive companion that will follow her lead. She is crate and house trained and loves nothing more that sitting right next to you on the sofa receiving pets and massages. Finley does have a significant prey drive and will not be safe in a home with cats or very small dogs. She favors a routine and while she loves attention, she will lay down quietly on the floor in the evening and chew on a nylabone. She needs a 6' secure fence and will patrol the boundaries to ensure no intruders have found their way into the yard. She enjoys hanging out with her Setter foster sister but is not overly needy regarding a canine companion. Finley guards her food as a resource and will need to be fed alone. She is currently fed in her crate and does quite well with it. She is entertained briefly by stuffed and squeaky toys. Finley really enjoys a yard with a bird or two that stops by so she can show off her setter instincts. She would do well with older children that would respect her space but boisterous children would likely startle her. Like most Setters she could use some leash training but learns quickly and wants to please. Finley is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. She is in a foster home in Edmond, OK.
