Until further notice to adhere to CDC's recommendations, meet and greets and adoption are appointment only.** Gracie is a sassy 4 year old Long Haired Chihuahua that knows exactly what she wants and how to get it! She weighs 12.9 pounds and is full grown. Gracie is very unsure when entering new environments and will need humans that will allow her time and space to adjust at her own pace. She has done well with men and women, but needs a home with no children. Gracie is easily spooked by loud noises and fast movement and isn't afraid to give a warning nip. She does well with other dogs her size as long as they are calm like herself and give her space. Gracie also does well with cats! She is house broken, potty pad trained, walks good on a leash and rides well in the car. Gracie is a tripod and will trick you into thinking she can't do some things, but don't be fooled! She can jump over small (6 inch) ledges with no problem. Though she is very mobile she is very particular about the surfaces she prefers to walk on. Gracie is most comfortable on soft surfaces like carpet or blankets where she has the best grip under her paws. She would love a home with a backyard for her to roam while supervised. Gracie does like to share her opinion and would not do well in an apartment environment. She will at first ignore her people and not want to be friends. During your meet and greet she may not want anything to do with the new humans unless they have some kind of treat (we recommend bringing some unseasoned chicken). Gracie will slowly come around but highly despises being reached at over her head or if anyone tries to pick her up. She does best transported in a kennel and approached slowly to give chin rubs and neck scratches. Gracie will need a patient home willing to go along with her high maintenance attitude and let her go at her own pace. She truly is a sweetheart once you tear down her walls over time. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 which includes a free vet visit.
