About Trent

English Setter
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Trent is a 1 year old ball of activity and snuggles. His fosters call him 'the sweetest' and 'the cutest.' Trent is a high-energy youngster who needs a home with another active dog to play with or with people who are very active and can spend most of their day making sure he gets enough interaction and exercise. He needs an experienced home that can provide leadership and structure. He must have a six-foot, secure, no-climb fence. Trent is not safe with cats. Trent is learning to walk on leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and is learning house manners. Trent's love of humans and treats makes training sessions with him rewarding for all. Because of his eager attitude, an adopter willing to spend training time with Trent will have a cooperative and willing student. Trent definitely needs a yard where he can stretch out and run. A small yard will not work for him. Because of his love of people, Trent needs a home with furniture privileges and people who are happy to have a snuggler climb into their laps. Trent is too active for a family with young children, but he has enjoyed the older (10+) children in his foster home. A quick list of Trent's favorite things from his foster Mom: He LOVES to be with people and wants to be in a lap or touching you at all times. That qualifies him as a 'Velcro' setter! He LOVES his toys. He LOVES balls the most and often falls asleep with one in his mouth. He LOVES gentle play with his foster dog companion. He LOVES to chase butterflies, and will leap high in the air to try to catch one. He LOVES bird feeders. He has figured out that the birds come to the bird feeders, so he'll run up to one feeder to watch the birds scatter, then he'll wait until they land at the other feeder, run up to it, and watch the birds scatter again He LOVES ice cubes. Trent is fully vetted and ready for a forever home. Trent is spending a month with a trainer near Houston, TX to work on his doggy social skills. Interested adopters would be able to meet the trainer in person if desired.
