About Jackie O-Adopted

Boxer
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

'Jackie O came to me as an owner surrender. She had been living with a family who also had a female German Shepherd and that was not going well for Jackie. They were fighting and she was injured - but is healed now. Jackie O is a classy senior and definitely a survivor. She is very happy being the only dog in the house but has shown no aggression with other dogs we have encountered. Jackie O is a very sweet girl who follows me from room to room and is more than happy just to sleep nearby, she even snores. She also dreams a lot and I find myself watching her sleep because she moves and makes the funniest faces while she sleeps. She is excited to see me first thing in the morning and has adjusted well to being crated at night or when I leave the house. She's not a particularly energetic dog although she is more so when she goes outside, especially first thing in the morning. I have introduced her to several other humans and she has done well, no jumping or barking. She will alert me if any of my neighbors are walking near the house or are just outside and talking. She is intrigued by the vacuum cleaner but wasn't happy the lawn service was in ''her'' backyard. She alerts when she needs to go outside to do her business by standing near me and whimpering. She doesn't seem to mind thunderstorms but she prefers not to potty in the rain until it is her idea. She will ride in the car but would prefer to drive. She is heart worm negative and got a good report at her vet appointment. She is 65.5 pounds. She knows how to sit but stay is still a struggle, especially if I leave the room.'
